Yes, the basic version of SmartBallot is free for student unions and educational institutions. Premium features or institutional support packages may come at a cost for larger organizations or national bodies.

Your school/organization is required to upload all the matriculation numbers or registration numbers of everyone that is required to vote. Ensure your details or matric number match your institution’s database. You can re-upload correct documents or contact support at support@smartballotapp.com.

No. Only verified users can vote to maintain the integrity and security of elections.

Elections are created by verified administrators. Registered voters receive a unique access link or notification. Votes are cast securely and anonymously through the app and results are displayed in real time.

Yes. Votes are encrypted and cannot be traced back to individual users, ensuring voter privacy.

No. The system is designed to ensure one verified vote per person per election.

From the homepage, click on your school or organization. Navigate to the “Submit Vote” tab during an active election. Select your preferred candidate from a list of candidates. Submit your vote. Enter your Matriculation or registration number. Confirm your vote. Once you vote, you confirm and submit your votes, you cannot take it back. Your vote will be counted and displayed on the Live results which are updated instantly as votes are counted.

Click on the school or organization. Navigate to the “View Live Results” tab during an active election. Results are updated instantly as votes are counted.

Candidates can:

• Register or log in
• Upload photo, manifesto, and bio
• Campaign through the platform or submit media contentfor FREE.

Yes. Visit the “Candidates” profile page to read profiles, manifestos, and media content. 

This feature allows registered users to initiate the recall of underperforming or corrupt leaders by collecting digital signatures and support, in line with constitutional or school guidelines.

1. Initiate recall by providing justification
2. Collect minimum 51% of registered voter support
3. Verified submission is reviewed
4. If qualified, a recall election is triggered
5. If a recall election is triggered, all registered voter in the particular area/school will be sent the recall alert/notification to participate in the recall process for FREE.

Yes. It follows legal guidelines such as Nigeria’s INEC recall provisions or internal school union constitutions.

Your name, photo (optional), ID verification status, voting history (non-sensitive), and activities such as recalls supported or elections organized. 

Yes, a built-in messaging system allows communication between voters, candidates, and administrators (if enabled).
